LOST

Aside from my usual items that are constantly "lost" a.k.a. temporarily misplaced, we seem to have developed a routine of losing things.

Jack lost a shoe a couple weeks ago - the right shoe. We got another pair just like the first pair and he lost the right shoe AGAIN.

Hannah apparently dislikes her cute little pink and white gingham hat because she is constantly taking it off and throwing it off the side of the stroller. We have lost that hat three times in the last week. Thankfully, every time I have retraced our steps I have found it (1st on the side of the road; 2nd in the middle of the road - no tire tracks, thankfully; and lastly hanging on a tree).

Today, we were out on a walk and I heard Hannah saying "uh-uh," over and over. This is her version of "uh-oh." Finally, I clued in to realize they must have dropped something. Sure enough about 3o feet back was her sippy cup laying on the ground.

Let me conclude by mentioning that I often feel like I am losing my mind. Perhaps, it is because I am busy taking care of myself and two little ones or maybe I have always been this way (most likely the latter). I often find myself making silly mistakes...putting refrigerated items in the pantry and cereal in the refrigerator. Yesterday, I thought I defrosted meatloaf only to find out it was strawberry bread. Last weekend we were trying to take a "Happy Birthday" picture to send to one of our little friends from Hannah's orphanage. Later in the day I happened to look at the pictures a little bit closer only to see that I left out the "h." Perhaps you might remember I did this last year too! Yikes!

In honor of Dad

Since Father's Day was this last Sunday I thought I would do a post in honor of Mark (just a little late). He is a great Dad and the kids Love being with him. Whenever he is with them he gives them his full attention and I am so thankful to get to watch him love our children.

Weekend Adventures

We have had quite the weekend and still one more day to go! Friday, the kids and I went to the Farmers Market in Dillon (one of my favorite Summer Friday Activities). Then, Friday night we went to the Breckenridge Town Party at the River Walk. There were tons of people and the kids had lots of stimulation. We all got our dance on as we listened to some blue grass and Jack entertained us and all those sitting near us with his new, weird head shaking move (I will have to get this on video). It reminds me of the old SNL skit - you know which one I am talking about. Hannah had a great time crawling under all the chairs. The town party was lots of fun and Jack, our little animal lover even got to go into the petting zoo, which he loved!

Today, we headed over to the Frisco BBQ. It is a huge BBQ competition and there were people galore. We ran into several friends, ate some tasty pulled pork, and tried our hardest to wear the kids out. Upon returning home we had naps and then some playing out on the green in front of our house.

Riding the truck around.

AND making some FuNnY Faces!

Had to laugh today when Hannah J squealed with delight and started signing "more" as we passed the bananas in the grocery store.

Happy 11 Months

Hooray! You are 11 months little girl. Your growth and development has been huge and it is hard to remember a morning when I didn't wake up to your sweet, smiling face.

I think you must look at Jack and say to yourself "anything you can do, I can do better." You are so observant and watch his every move - thus, you have learned quite a bit just by watching him. You tell us you want "more" at the dinner table because you watch him sign more. (You don't really want more though).

You are my little social butterfly. You LOVE attention. I know I have said this before but it is true. During our travels you would look at people and smile and wave. When I say people I mean almost everyone. It seems as if one of the things in life that brings her the most joy is a shared smile. What a great quality for you to have - you are winning friends left and right.

Your core strength continues to increase and your little legs are getting stronger. You walk along furniture and love to hold her our hands to bounce up & down and dance. You are a fast little crawler and I think this comes from trying to keep up with your brother. You seem to be rather fearless and go and do just about anything. At the beach you crawled straight out into the waves and kept crawling after your head was under the water...yikes!

You were exploring underneath the guest bed...and got stuck.

Words: You say "uh" when we say "uh-oh."

You do "excited" with your brother. You both wave your arms and scream whenever anyone says excited. You wave whenever anyone says "hi." You are clapping.

One of the things I like most about you is how you love. You make your daddy, myself, and your brother feel so good whenever we walk into a room. It is clear you like being around us. You smile and crawl to us and do "excited." Another development is how you are physically attaching yourself to us. The kisses have been coming for awhile, AND I love your open mouth slobbery kisses - you are a sweet girl. BUT, I have just noticed in the last 2 weeks or so that you are starting to really wrap your arms around me when I pick you up. It is like you don't want me to let you go and it is pretty darn close to a HUG.

Here you are a hugging a giant bear we found in a store.
You have also developed an affection for stuffed animals.

Sweet girl, we're excited to watch you grow and change again this next month. You are learning so much so quickly. I have a feeling you will be walking before we know it!

Love you Little Hannah Banana!

Quick Stop

We arrived in Tulsa late Saturday night for a quick visit and for me to recharge before I fly alone with the kids today back to Denver. The rest of our time at the beach was great! Mark flew back to Denver last Wednesday so we are really excited to see him tonight. More pictures to come soon...hoping for a great flight with both kids!

A few new things

A few new things like sand...the ocean...popsicles...hushpuppies, and meeting Uncle Jacob.

Looking cool.

Keeping cool.

Trying popsicles.

This picture does not do justice to the excitement shown by "little man" over hush puppies. He ate a LOT and screamed and screamed for more!!

Kids Museum and Beach Time

Last Friday we took the kids to Marbles Kids Museum in Raleigh. We knew we had some time to kill before we could head to the beach house so this is what we decided to do...the Museum. It was really fun and there were no limits to where the kids could go and what they could do. They were able to crawl around and get into anything they wanted. Our hope was to wear them out so that they would sleep on the 3 1/2 hour car ride to the beach. It worked.

Driving in the city.

My little lioness.

Getting their surf on...

We made it to the beach, checked in and then checked out the house. Grandma and Grandpa showed up soon after we arrived and we all settled in.

Dinner on the deck before the high chairs arrived.
The kids loved the seagulls who were hoping the kids would be really messy and drop food for them.

Looking forward to the rest of our visit.
